Ganz and Bosch Engineering collaborate on next-generation electric propulsion systems

A strategic development partnership focused on advanced electric drive solutions for premium motorboats.

Ganz announces an engineering collaboration with Bosch Engineering to develop next-generation electric propulsion systems for future Ganz motorboats.

The project focuses on creating an integrated electric drive architecture tailored specifically to the requirements of premium boutique boats: high efficiency, refined power delivery, intelligent system management, and seamless integration into the overall boat concept.

Unlike retrofitted solutions, the electric propulsion systems under development are being engineered as a core element of the boat’s architecture. Hull design, weight distribution, thermal management, control software, and user interfaces are developed in parallel.

“Our ambition is not to electrify an existing boat. Our ambition is to design boats around electric propulsion from the beginning — technically, architecturally, and emotionally,” says says Mathias Ganz, CEO GanzBoats GmbH.

Bosch Engineering contributes its extensive expertise in electric mobility, power electronics, system integration, and safety architectures. Together, the teams are developing scalable solutions that can support different performance classes, from refined day boats to more powerful applications.

The collaboration aims to deliver:

high-efficiency electric drive units
modular battery and energy management systems
intelligent control and monitoring architecture
premium user experiences with minimal noise and vibration

For Ganz, electric propulsion is not positioned as an alternative, but as an integral part of the brand’s future product strategy — combining sustainability, technological sophistication, and refined on-water experiences.
